Spice C Hand Drawn Noodles, where Love is Getting Fat Together

Recently, Yummy Lan Zhou on 10th street rebranded to Spice C, a bit hipper and also  less similar in name to the nearby famous Nan Zhou. This rebranding comes with soups that you can order at the “flirting” hot level as well as tshirts (the uniform and available for purchase)  that say “love is getting fat together, so lets eat more.”

The menu is largely similar, with some new dishes. More are on the way in the upcoming weeks along with a remodeling of the interior.

The appetizers, which entice you with photographs, are worth being enticed by. The eggplant in garlic sauce is amazing; pillowy eggplant pieces, in a sweet and garlicky brown sauce area appealing to people who don’t even like eggplant.

They know how to fry here too, the chicken wings and pork potstickers (not pictured) are also nice to start with.

The hand shaved noodles are a must here; irregularly shaped and springy, they come in soup or pan fried and work well with whatever you put on top of them- and Spice C is flexible about off menu requests. I have consumed their hand shaved noodles with spicy beef, delicious fried cubes of sesame tofu (above), and shrimp (below).

Spice C maintains a semi open kitchen- you can watch the noodle making action through the kitchen window.  The staff is really friendly and they are able to accommodate groups. The menu  is already big enough to keep me coming back, though I look forward to seeing the new additions. Getting fat with your loved ones at Spice C is a good thing.
