La Casa de las Empanadas
While doing some Korean grocery shopping, I stumbled into Upper Darby’s latest restaurant- a Colombian spot called La Casa de las Empanadas. I love myself some empanadas, so that seemed like an appropriate casa for me to walk in to.
I especially love Colombian empanadas – with their thick, golden, fried crust. I was in a rush, so I just grabbed 2 beef empanadas- only $1 each, they were on the small side, and filled with meat and potatoes. This is a happy snack. I love a place that focuses on snacks, though I don’t know if they will be adding more entree type dishes as they go. There are a lot of things on the menu that I would come back for- especially the chicharron, chorizo, potato balls, basically anything fried or involving pork. Be warned: Unless you count plantains, there are currently no vegetables on this menu.

Went there on Saturday – food was good. Really enjoyed the passion fruit juice.
