Just Opened: Rotisserie Chicken at the Bellevue Food Court

Last week J & D Rotisserie opened in the Bellevue Food Court. Besides the expected platters and to -go rotisserie chicken options,  buffalo wings, ribs, and a few sides make up the rest of the small menu. Sometimes plain, juicy rotisserie chicken is  exactly what I am in the mood for. And as there really aren’t that many places in town doing the rotisserie thing, I  think there is room for  J&D in the neighborhood.

For $6.99 I chose the platter that came with a half chicken breast and 2 sides.

The menu and what a platter looks like, after the jump…

The chicken was very moist and flavorful. I would have liked a crispier skin and maybe a bigger piece, but I was happy with what I got. Sauces come on the side, and I chose the hot sauce, which was kind of buffalo-esque. My side order of beets looked like it was swimming in Pepto Bismol, but the beet tinted Russian dressing covering the mix of beets, peas, and carrots tasted way better than it looked. And I have no complaints about the side of mashed potatoes.

The batch of ribs was still cooking, so I unfortunately did not get to sample them.

As the place is brand new, kinks are being worked out. The soda and credit card machines were not yet working.

THE + (What somebody who likes this place would say)

  • I was in the mood for some simple rotisserie chicken that is not dried out
  • I want some comfort food side dishes with my meal

THE – (What somebody who doesn’t like this place would say)

  • I hate chicken
  • I need more chicken to feel satisfied
