I gotta say I'm totally skeptical. The westside just can't deliver on decent Vietnamese and this place looks like another white-washed Asian place where design trumps the grub. I'll check it out though and if I'm wrong I'll offer a public mea culpa.

I think their non-traditional banh mis are the best. Loved the pork belly, for example.

Been eyeballing this place on my trips to Tsujita and can't wait to try it. But for solid chicken bun with eggrolls you can do far worse than Le Saigon right nearby on Santa Monica Blvd. I wouldn't order anything else there, but the bun is reliably good, especially with plenty of chili sauce.

Also, on a tangential note, I loved the cold cuts and bread on the Spice Table banh mi, but the vegetables needed to be a pickled just a bit more. I like a little more funk.

Sounds awesome. I've never thought of bun as a salad, but I think you're on to something there.

As an aside, the Spice Table has a special bahn mi of sliced turkey, smoked mozzarella, and bacon chutney now. It's pretty incredible.
