PROFILE: L.A. Lunch’er “Jeff”
As is customary on Midtown Lunch, every Tuesday we’ll profile a random reader to get their recommendations for the best spots to lunch near their work. This week we’re excited to welcome Thrillist’s L.A. editor Jeff Miller who works in the Mid-Wilshire area but wishes he was in Japan…
Name: Jeff
Age: 31
Occupation: Editor
Where in L.A. do you Work?: Thrillist LA; Mid-Wilshire
Favorite Kind of Food: Sushi
Least Favorite Kind of Food: Dessert
Favorite Place(s) to Eat Lunch: I’m roaming around the city a lot for work — but by my home/office I find myself eating the chirashi from Sushi & Kushi Imai (8300 Wilshire Blvd) and salads from Doughboys (8136 W 3rd St) at least once a week, but I like it when I end up in the valley and find myself at Pita Kitchen (14500 Ventura Blvd, Sherman Oaks) for their chicken kafta. I’ve also been doing TONS of lunches at Tinga (142 S. La Brea). MMM.
“Go-To” Lunch Place You and Your Coworkers Eat at Too Often? I have meetings at House Cafe at least once a week
The farthest place you’ll drive for lunch on a normal day? I’ll go to the san gabe for dim sum or the westside for Mariscos Chente any day.
If you could work anywhere (just because of the lunch) where would it be and why? Tokyo. I was there for four days and didn’t get nearly enough sushi into my belly.
Is there anything you’d like to ask the Midtown Lunch readers in L.A.? Whats your favorite hole-in-the-wall on 3rd or Beverly? I don’t expand my horizons in my hood nearly enough.
Got a recommendation for Jeff? Put it in the comments. And if you’d like to be next week’s Profiled: L.A. Lunch’er (or know somebody you’d want to nominate), email me- zach@midtownlunch.com.

Have you tried the fried risotto balls at Tasca? Yum. One of my favorite late night burgers can be found at St Nicks too. If you can stand the crowd.
