Your favorite Street Meat (not represented in SMP2)

Just wondering where you guys go for Street Meat (carts that were not included in SMP2). I need some ideas and most of the places on SMP2 are a bit far for me (or I personally don't like them).

    Uhm, where are you located....?

The places I like going to are already SMP1'ed and SMP2'ed. Oh well. If you're in Queens, I would suggest trying Sammy's or King of Falafel.

  3. 55 btwn park and lex... (I can't venture far for lunch, especially today, so I need something close)

I don't really like the 100% healthy cart that much. There's a rafiqi's a couple of blocks down, but I would rather not give them business after what happened w/ all those other carts.

You're near me. But 100% H&H is your best choice if you can't go too far. There's also 100% Halal or the other cart run by the spanish people.

I would rather walk down to XPL or Steak Truck though - both on Park Ave on 47th-48th.

I don't like 100%H&H either. How far is too far? The dragon cart on 62nd is worth the walk, as is the famous cart on 53rd.

Check that, zero in on your location and check out the options. The indian cart looks interesting.

I'm not a fan of the indian cart but they're okay for variety-sake. I'd onyl do 100% H&H for the greek salad liek other MLers.

Yea, if you're fine with walking out, do 53rd&6th and The Dragon like Adam suggested. I have with both.
I even hit up Carnegie John's from our neck of the woods.

  7. Thanks for the reply. I've obviously thought of the 53rd cart. While the actual distance may be do-able, compounding the distance w/ the line, i dont' think I can do that. The dragon cart on 62nd, how is the line?

The Dragon has a very loyal following. I've waited at least 20 mins each time so it's bad, if not worse than 53rd/6th.

  9. there's a halal cart (we call it "sammy's" because sammy is the "chef") on 59th and lex (corner of bloomingdales -- but he's now moved halfway down the block towards 3rd because of construction) very good chicken and rice. hot sauce has just the right amount of kick and the chicken is tasty.

and one more block up (60th and 3rd) is el rel de sabor. (two chicken tacos for $5 made for a tasty lunch today.)

the dragon cart is good too -- different style chicken and rice. i've walked away when the line was 20+ people deep.

    happy lunching.

  10. I work on 55th btw 3rd and Lex.......as long as you have an hour for lunch you can make it to 53rd and 6th, "the Dragon", XPL, Steak Truck, and even the Quick Delight Cart on 45th and 3rd. My co-worker and I go out to lunch every day and have went on some serious adventures to get food from different carts.

  11. Yeah, the problem is, I rarely have an hour to take for lunch. I would go to 53rd and 6th all the time if I could, but I can't take too much time away from my desk. that place on 59th and lex sounds promising. Will definitely check it out. On slow days, I'll take the trip to XPL or 53rd, but i need a goto cart for days when i can't be away from my desk too long.

Thanks for all the recs! Keep 'em coming!
