Carnegie John's or if I dont feel like traveling Ranch 1 (there right down stairs from me)

The slightly out-of-bounds Island Burger on 9th (b/t 51 and 52) has an amazing chicken sandwich (although it can quickly get over $10 with some of the add-ons).

Yeah, I have to say I'm a big fan of Ranch 1. It might not be the best chicken sandwich of all time, but it's cheap and the fries are good.

Although I'm not a big fan of BK, I have to say I really liked their Chicken Whopper/ BK Broiler back in my college days. I think they sell it now as the TenderGrill.

Island burger is good like Wade said. It a BIG sandwich though. If you like a smaller one, Lucky Burger has a good one. The Lucky chicken sandwich. Its small, but comes with cheese, L&T, and their lucky sauce. ask for the chipolte mayo! 52nd bet 8&9th.

oops, and bacon too.

Is Lucky Burger generally any good? I've walked by a few times, but no one is ever in there.

i use to go to chicken bar for my grilled chicken sandwich.. and i assume ranch 1 is more of the same.. while it's "better than you would think", it's still nothing to write home about.. i remember this sandwich i had when working jersey city... it was amazing.. chicken was nice and moist... fresh veggies... a little bit of mayo... on a hero that was perfectly toasted... in any case.. just trying to find something that comes close....

@sushiburger - you're totally right. i think of ranch 1 as a goto chx sandwich. the kind of unoffensive thing I could eat as an every day standby. while the "best" chicken sandwich might be too big, or rich, or greasy to eat every single day. (like a sandwich from the Rutgers Grease Trucks)

yeah.. i haven't been since chicken bar closed down.. but maybe i'll check out ranch 1....
i was craving a healthy grilled chicken sandwich today.. so what did i do??? i went to Tina's and got the fried pork sandwich...
