WHOA: Uncle Gussy's

Shivery.McPickles

You guys. I feel like an idiot. I have a week and a half left at my current job and I JUST tried Uncle Gussy's. What have I been thinking all this time??

Their rice is clearly not special, but their lamb is SO good. And their white sauce has YOGURT in it. I'm in love.

Pickles got a big-girl job at the Time Warner Center. In the nooze-media.

I tried it today and decided to get their combo with rice. There is nothing special about their rice, standard lettuce/ tomato and plain hot sauce. The grilled chicken is average but the lamb is the more flavorful meat choice since it's off the gyro spit. They will add grilled onions to your meats too and I opted in. The tzatziki is a pleasantly thick yogurt sauce. I'm down for more lamb and rice with tzatziki next time. The guys in the cart are friendly too. Thanks for re-directing us to Uncle Gussy's, Pickles. I really don't recall liking their food way way back. Very glad to try it now despite the onion-stink breath I got going on. Haha.

    Yay! I'm so glad!

Yes, I too opted in for the onions. On the plus side, it keeps work conversations to a minimum for the rest of the day.

  4. I am writing an article on food trucks, and Uncle Gussy's drew my interest. Does anyone who frequents the stand know of a number to contact them. Being a food cart, it is impossible to find anything online.
