-
Who or what's that?
-
Where is this?
-
hm apparently a cart on 51st & park - http://www.yelp.com/biz/uncle-gussys-new-york

Oh the greek cart!
It's right in front of my office, silly me.
I ate there ONCE like my first week working in midtown and never again. LOL. -
I'm not alone in missing this completely so far? It's on 51st and Park, as Monstermooch said, by the BofA.
$5 for chicken and lamb on rice with gyro style lamb shaved off a rotisserie and pretty tasty tzatziki. Their hot sauce is a little on the vinegary side, but I DID ask for extra because I am... just that way.
Dudes. It's good.
-
Yea, don't be like me walking to Carnegie John's instead when there's a greek cart right in front of me. I thought their food was only okay. Tzatziki helps.
-
oh goodie..i gotta try this place, thanks.
btw, gussy is my nick name. -
I mean, StreetMeas, Carnegie John's is just... different. And definitely worth the walk. But when it's cold and yucky and you just need a fix, Uncle Gussy's is pretty good option.
Also: I'm going to need Columbus Circle area recommends pretty soon since I've finally succeeded in getting myself out of my soul-suck of a job!
-
In good faith, I'll eat it again, Pickles. This time, just the lamb rice with Tzatziki and hot sauce.
It's definitely better than succumbing to Rafiqi's nearby (probably the main reason I don't like eating at carts directly in front of my office).
-
Yeah. Street meat + corn = suspicious Pickles.
-
McP, where about columbus circle?

You guys. I feel like an idiot. I have a week and a half left at my current job and I JUST tried Uncle Gussy's. What have I been thinking all this time??
Their rice is clearly not special, but their lamb is SO good. And their white sauce has YOGURT in it. I'm in love.
