It is a bit more North but my fave (mentioned in comments for the "freak of the week" as well) is Katagiri on 59th bet 2nd and 3rd.

I find Sushiya to be reliably good (56th between 5th and 6th Aves). They're not on Seamless Web, but you can walk in, tell them you're ordering to go -- you'll be directed to the rear of the restaurant, near the cash register. You place your order and pay and then go back up front to wait for your order. The wait is usually about 10 minutes for a Sashimi Deluxe. I think you can also call ahead and place your order.

you can call ahead for sushi at sushi ya, which is my go-to. my office is at 51st and 6th...i call and order, walk out the door, and when i get there, the order is ready (and i walk fast!) salad and soup included, which is nice. salad is large but unexciting and miso soup tasty.
iroha on 49th/7th is another option. the rolls are good, the sashimi not as good as sushi ya.

I like Chiyoda Sushi on 41st b/w Mad and 5th. Fast, relatively inexpensive, and tasty. The spicy miso soup is awesome too.

I second Chiyoda. The quality of the fish seems better than Cafe Zaiya next door.

Aoki (234 W 48th St). Also known as Morgan Stanley's sushi bar.

3rd Chiyoda. Walk in grab what you want, chuck it on a tray, don't try to stack them like I did once, they are slippery, and then pay...either stay and eat there or they bag it for you.

Where is the best sushi deal (takeout) in terms of quality vs. price, preferably in the 40's-50's from btwn 3rd and 6th?
