You mean in Chicago, where pizza is done wrong?
Hahahahahahahaha
-
Sausage Parmigiana Calzone from Little Italy Pizza ($5.45) it was delicious! Way mmore filling than their overpriced slices.
-
Chicago pizza where UNO's is a top contender? Don't even bother with Geno's. Their sausage pie is horrible! I like deep-dish pizza when it's done right. Not when it's all mushy dough, overflowing sauce with little cheese and hardly any meat on it. Bootlegged and expensive!
As oppose to NYC, plenty of local joints will do justice to a pie!
-
Yvo - wrong. Sorry to have to point this out to you, but a well-made deep-dish pizza is heaven. And it is way better than the typical sitting-on-the-counter-and-reheated-so-it's-kinda-dried-out typical NY slice pusher's product.
-
How can you consider it pizza when the definition of pizza includes a shallow bread-like crust? Don't get me wrong, I like deep dish too. But it's completely different and I don't think it as pizza.

Learn to take a joke... I could really care less about the whole deep dish vs. thin crust argument. I have my preferences and other people have theirs... I'm not one to jump down anyone's throat to tell them their way is wrong, it isn't wrong, it just isn't my way or what I prefer.

A deep dish pizza is a meat and cheese cake.
-
Yvo--yes, you should definitely relax and not take thing so seriously!
CheeeeEEEse: Yes! And a yummy one at that. With big juicy chunks of sausage and tasty tomato sauce that is actually wet--can't think of the last NY slice I had that had those qualities. Good crust in NY, but the pizzas tend to be dry, dry, dry.

I had salmon bento box from Chiyoda. I love their side dishes.
-
Yvo, love your bento blog!
-
Thanks rinda :)
I had chili with all the accoutrements except sour cream. Will fix that and buy some later today!
-
Falafel laffa from Baraca (formerly Olympic Pita) and a choc. chip cookie and brownie from Treats Truck. Nice that they are so close together when I am feeling extra hungry.
-
living up to my hippie ass reputation: Quinoa with green beans and roasted potatoes and some sauteed chard on the side.
-
banh mi from the new deli place on 57th... not horrible, not good....
