I didn't want to start a new thread since it's not like something I'm condoning.
No whale blubber for me either.
Who am I kidding though? I'd eat it if it was served to me but wouldn't go out of my way to find it.

I had some whale blubber sashimi in Japan. I didn't mind it. It was served very cold, had a refreshing, not-quite-meat quality, like a rubbery radish.
The drunk businessman next to me assured me the whales were killed for "research purposes." I can only imagine such purposes were things like "How do whales taste?" and "are they good with sake?" Or maybe he meant porpoises? Anyway, I doubt I'll repeat.
