I am and as usual around this time I'm trying to decide where to eat. I went to 100% Healthy Halal on 55th & Park yesterday. Was not impressed. I'm tempted to just blow my lunch money at the Waffle truck since they're in the hood today.

I'm at work. NYSE is open, we're open (except the day after Thanksgiving when we are closed and they are open). Don't ask me why because I do not work at a financial firm.
Of course, I'm not in Midtown, but I'll ignore that part of the question :P

I'm working as well. This sucks. The parade is right outside my office...I am going to take abreak and check it out...
-
I've never had this day off at any job. Unless you consider being a student a job, then I had Veteran's Day off many years ago.
-
i am working but there is always lunch that i can look forward to.
-
I have school tonight Hungry! What's that about? What kind of stupid city university has school on veteran's day! There are veterans IN my class!!!
-
Damn sorry Yvo. That totally sucks.
-
im at work...but they gave us an extra personal day...whoop
-

Law firms hate holidays.
-
I <3 the NYSE
-
I second law firms hate holidays. The courts are closed, we should be too.
-
Even trade groups that employ lawyers (like me) seemingly hate holidays! This is one of 2 majors (the other being good friday) we don't get off! BOO!!! Boo to not getting off!!!!
-
You guys should see this as an opportunity to eat in Midtown for an extra day this week. :P
I squandered that opportunity, however - got coerced into eating at Haru Sushi. Ugh :\
-
Uh... I work at a law firm and I get Good Friday off.
-
I think I misunderstood your comment

Soon enough, ALL of you guys (and gals) will get more time off than you really want --- it's called 'retirement'. Some call it 'getting old'.
THEN, you will have plenty of time to post to your heart's content on all the food blogs...OOPS! You already DO!
My bad.
-
Follow in your foolish footsteps Dc? HELL NO! If I were a retired man, such as yourself, I would not WASTE my days sitting in front of my computer trolling websites that don't affect me in any way--I mean what kind of LOSER lurks other cities foodboards unless he or she LIVES there or is imminently going to travel there. In my retirement,I'll be out travelling the world, or doing something more productive, like helping people in need. We are PAID to sit here and post, since we WORK for a living and are stuck at our jobs for 8 hrs per day. This is a great diversion. Don't compare us to you....it's insulting....
-
DAMN, 'Goats', you are passionate (and obviously drunk as a skunk), but I feel your pain, Goats.
I already travel 4 (FOUR) months every year, and I spend 6 months every year visiting and inspecting my hospitality properties . . . hell, that only leaves me TWO months a year to "TROLL" the food blogs (as you call it).
No, GOATS, I was NOT comparing "us to you" . . . there is NO comparison.
Now, you go sober up, take a hot bath, eat some Matzo Ball soup or something - - - and you will feel much better in the morning.
-
I wish I was drinking right now! Sadly,my employer shuns it. I believe if anyone is having a drink during weekday daylight hours, it is you DC. I mean who else but a drunk would troll random messageboards that have no affect on his or her own life?
I reccomend you go here:
http://www.theidiotboard.com/messageboard/index.php?sid=0ac1651620739400b80c75c9fa2f1498I am sure you will have plenty of things to discuss with others of your ilk....
-
Doc you have been on this site daily since I started posting almost a year ago. Two months?
-
Well, hell, "D" I try to spread my wisdom out evenly. Surely you don't expect me to waste it all in a narrow window of time, do you?
Carry on.

Some of my friends get the holiday off today, did you? Who's still hangin' in Midtown?
