It's a little trek south for you, but JG Melon has some of the best burgers and fries around. It's on 74th and 3rd.
-
i love jg melons.. but it is a bit of a walk... probably go there once a month though for their burgers...

Isn't Pio Pio up there? The Peruvian Chicken place? I've heard amazing things about it, but have yet to try it.
-
If you aren't hitting up Pio Pio then you are doing yourself a disservice. Peruvian chicken and fries and sliced hotdogs (I know it sounds weird but trust me it's awesome). They also have that great green sauce that Sophie's ripped off.
I also like Gray's Papaya and Jackson Hole burgers. Kinsale Tavern for the Irish Breakfast and a pint. And the inevitable Monday nights at Brother Jimmy's. $15 all you can eat rib tips and hot wings and all you can drink pitchers of beer. And if you don't mind spending some cash and wanna live out your Beerfest fantasies, try Heidelberg (http://www.heidelbergrestaurant.com/). Damn you, Das Boot. It's a love hate relationship.

Brother Jimmy's has excellent fried pickles! I've never eaten anything else there; actually I've never been to Brother Jimmy's, just Yankee Stadium offers the fried pickles so I tried them there and they were GOOD. Almost enough to make me go to a location and try the other food :)

This is my fav. place in that area. You must live like a block away from it...
Ottomanelli New York Grill

Thanks a million for all your recs!
yeah.. i generally go to Ottomanelli's for burgers.. or get delivery.. it's great.. a little garlic on their bun takes the burger a long way
I've had Pio Pio... and I must say.. while the chicken is so juicy and delicious... i'm not a fan of their fries and sausages...
Not really a fan of Brother Jimmy's either (I actually don't like fried pickles.... never could enjoy that taste).. although that $15 monday thing sounds something I would do weekly..
Any decent Sushi / Vietnamese / Pizza places you guys are aware of?
-
Isn't the all you can eat sushi place up there? Yuka? Haven't been there in years but it was alright.
-
@ Sushiburger, yeah I thought I could do the Monday nights thing every week too for two months. I can't even smell another hot wing before getting that 'Ugh I've had Too Much' look. Now I just go for the special and just drink my weight in beer and a cobb salad. It's not great bbq, but the special is worth it for the beer alone. Every once in a while, you can catch the sports teams after their games or group of people or me playing drinking games or singing karaoke (there is no karaoke machine). The one on 77th has ski ball, too!!!
You might also want to check out the Two Little Red Hens Bakery (http://www.twolittleredhens.com/).

The best sushi I've had on the UES is from Ko, on 70th/2nd. A bit of a hike from you, but they do deliver.
For pizza, there's a Totonno's up by you as well (in the 80's I think), and they also deliver. I prefer the Patsy's on 69th/2nd though.
-
@Yvo... never heard of Yuka.. but I'm always skeptical of all-you-can-eat sushi places... I have yet to try sushi from an AYCE sushi place that I liked
@mghu777... hahahah that's hilarious because I remember my girlfriend and I going to the Brother Jimmy's when they were doing some karaoke night thing.. and while the guy that was "MC-ing" the thing was good.. everyone else was pretty horrible... I hope you weren't there that night... hahaha.. i'm def. gonna have to do the all you can drink / eat thing.. is there a time limit????
@sandra... isn't Ko.. fancy-pants sushi? I'll def. hit up Totonno's... I really like Patsy's too, but they don't deliver to my place.. :| I'm almost 30 blocks away from there..
-
I guess it depends on what your definition of fancy-pants is. :) I wouldn't really put Ko in that category. Every time I've been there it's been pretty casual. Although I will say that it's not that cheap. I guess that's par for the course on the UES though.

I'm a little biased because I work with a relative, but this also means I've had the food for free and can vouch for its goodness:

They do both Chinese and Japanese and I imagine you'd be within their delivery range. I DO NOT LIKE salmon but their spicy salmon and avocado salad was amazing. I've only had their sushi. But everyone in the office was pretty happy with it.
You're talking about Sala Thai, yes?

So it's been a couple of months since i moved to the upper east side.. i live in the 90's and Lex.. I've found one or two places that are good / decent.. but I'm struggling to find more food options in the immediate vicinity. Every sushi place i get delivery from is horrible... one decent thai place... and a mexican place w/ decent tacos (but everything else is horrible).. and one good place for burgers..
anyway.. i want to order vietnamese, pizza, sushi, bbq and.. well.. anything else.. but haven't had anything good yet.. if you guys happen to know anything in the area that's good.. any recs would be appreciated.
