Too freaking hot for street meat

pigiron

I could not imagine leaving my nicely frigid office to stand on a burning sidewalk in order to purchase hot food on a day like this. I genuinely feel bad for the vendors today- not only do they have to slave over blazing hot grills, but I'm sure business is way down too. I do my part to support them in blizzards and rainstrorms, but I stay put during scorchers.

well, like you alluded to, i'm sympathetic to the heat they have to endure...think i'm gonna hit up my man on 41st and 3rd in a few.

I think hot days are the perfect time for street meat. Work up a red sauce sweat to cool yourself off. I'll probably do Little Morroco tomorrow.

If it makes you feel any better most of these guys are from places much hotter than here. But yeah, those are probably dry heats...

Time to bitch. It's 11:37 and I'm still wet (Yeah I said it) from the morning. The PATH train had no AC.....I get to 34th thinking that I'll take the subway to cool off and get to work quick rather than walking.....but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO the trains weren't running....so I waited on the northbound track for freaking 15 minutes while sweating like I was running....finally get to work soaking wet, make an asshole comment to a co-worker because I was LITERALLY dripping on the carpet, and head to the bathroom.

Raise your hand if you've ever been buck ass naked in your corporate bathroom. *raises hand*

    FUCK THIS HEAT!

Many many times but probably for a different reason than you...

But yes, I sooo agree. 15 minutes after showering and I'm covered in a film of sweat? NO THANKS!!! (Some of us live without ac in our apartments!)

    Booooooo... where is the rain???

i'm still figuring out how to move around at all outside of A/C and not sweat my face off. so far, it generally involves not moving :(

I'm toying with the idea of strategically placing frozen confectioneries in my suit.

"No i'm not happy to see you, I just have an Otter Pop in my pants"

This thread is awesome. "I just have an Otter Pop in my pants" will be my excuse for lots of things from now on.

Holy shit Cheese, what time did you take the PATH that had no AC? I'm glad my PATH at NWK at 10:17 had (middling-quality) AC. Well, at least one of the cars did anyway -- the one with the conductor and PATH employees, naturally. I got on THAT car. Some of those street meat vendors could probably do better selling ice packs on the PATH if there are lots of cars with broken AC.

  11. i ordered from cravings today... they usually park in the coldest area during the winter... still just as breezy but now the heat is directly overhead instead of blocked by buildings so its still pretty warm there on 24th and park... at least it was a cool breeze and not a dry hot one :D

  12. CheeeeEEEEse

Ike, I usually take one around 8:10-8:15 from Grove Street....why the hell are you riding at 10:15 around Newark of all places?

Chris6 - where are you? I work right upstairs from the B&K cart.
