well it helps the trucks avoid the cops following them...
-
...it also helps to avoid paying customers.

They don't have any choice if they want to stay open, Pigiron. The cops are following them on Twitter and using that to kick the trucks out of midtown. What else are they supposed to do? It's better than no info, for those of us who know where the trucks usually are.
If you're talking about the truck that I think you're talking about, its usual Thursday spot is 40th & 6th. Don't tell the #!$@#$# pigs!
-
I guess cops don't ride down 55th cause there is a smorgasbord of lunch trucks lining the street between 3rd and Madison and further!
-
The cops are following a truck on Twitter in order to track them down and chase them away? And by saying "the usual spot", the cops are confounded and are unable to track them down? Seriously?
Do you also write for Julie Taymor?

@pigiron, I know exactly what you mean. Even after just learning that they're being cryptic on purpose, it's still very annoying.
-
Hey, that's just what I heard. It made sense to me at the time. I don't know, man. Nobody ever said the pigs were smart.
(No, no! I didn't mean it! Please don't beat me to a pulp, Mr. Officer Man!)

I find the twitter tracker useless in a different way and have complained about it many times before to deaf ears. I don't think it gets updated or maintained.
There are multiple entities that either don't come to Midtown (hello qbacubankitchen), or don't even serve food at all (hello MalaysiaKitchen, TasteofKoreaNYC) - yes, they both did a promo giving away free food at one point, but otherwise, why do they need to stay on the list?
I don't know if souvlakitruck has ever been in Midtown either.
It's also missing trucks that do come to Midtown, like cevaptruck and probably others that I can't think of off hand.

How about bobjotruck ? Not sure if I've ever seen them on the twitter tracker.

New idea: you BANISH anyone who tweets anything like, "We're in our usual Thursday spot!". How the fuck does that help anyone?
