For F's Sake! Who the hell at TGIF thought it would be a good idea to pollute their website with an audio track of the commotion of a restaurant. I had the website loaded to find a store, and later put my headphones on and I had to search through my tabs to find the noise.

Apparently it's not the end of the month. I just went to the location on 46th and broadway, and they said the promotion ended, so we walked out.
I got curry goat from Caribbean Spice instead.

I sent in a complaint to TGIF, using this form:

Didn't do much good though. This is what I got back:
Dear Adam:
Thank you for contacting T.G.I. Friday's Guest Relations. The Take $5 promotion does state in the disclaimer:
Not for resale. Valid at participating locations, for a limited time only. Not valid in conjunction with any other offer. Tax and gratuity not included. Offer expires September 30th, 2009. Offer valid in the U.S. Discount applies to item of equal or lesser value. ©2009 TGI Friday's Inc. The trademark JACK DANIEL'S under license to TGI Friday's Inc. ©Jack Daniel's – All rights reserved.
Some of our franchise owned and operated restaurants have chosen not to participate or to participate on a limited basis. We understand and appreciate our guests have different opinions. We certainly think of your satisfaction when making our decisions and periodically offer promotional opportunities to our guests. We have shared your comments with the appropriate departments.
We appreciate your interest in T.G.I. Friday's.

So basically they said "You're f*cked and we don't care" - very nice.

Until the end of the month, $5 gets you either the Jack Daniels burger or chicken sandwich (both with optional cheese/lettuce/tomato/bacon/onion rings/pickle + fries on the side). Midtown menu price $16.99! I'd say true value is around $8-10, so it's still a great deal. The Times Square location is participating, so I'd imagine all of the rest are as well.
