they actually have a normal duane reade store downstairs in addition to the wacky layout they have on street level

"Pepto-BismoL" (yes, I know this is quite the quixotic effort, but I can't help myself...)
-
@stevenp: In my world there are no L's in the name "Pepto-Bistro."

They also have one of those crazy every flavor coke machines. http://www.coca-colafreestyle.com/

Anyone try the sushi?

bltaug3 -- Since no one has answered your question, we can assume that either no one has tried the sushi, or that everyone who has tried it has since been hospitalized and is in no condition to respond.

Since Duane Reade is owned by Walgreen's, I wonder if they are going to do that sort of thing in Walgreen stores.

The flagship Walgreens in Chicago has the same thing, maybe that's the model they used for this DR

So there I was, minding my own business as I was walking around the 50s and broadway when I see a sushi area in Duane Reade, complete with a sushi chef. This piqued my interest so I went inside and to my surprise the entire store was dedicated to consumable items. There was a juice bar, frozen yogurt, sandwiches, and etc. I guess Duane Reade is trying to toss its hat into the generic deli ring or something.
I was thinking with all of that, they could sell some Pepto Bismo in the store as well? Just in case.
