Summer Fridays

from memorial day to about a week before labor day, I have 1/2 day every other friday.

Are you a bitter old fart or a slacker, chris?
I have Summer Fridays starting Mid-May and ending first Friday in September usually. It's not slacking though - we have to make up the 4 hours the rest of the work-week so same BS.
No big change in lunch plans either. If anything, I can meet up people to do lunch after 12:30pm and not have to go back.

...so I guess that means liquid lunch Fridays for some (ahem!)

ME!!! We get half day fridays (out at 1:30-2) from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but every third friday, I have to stay late to man the legal dept since someone has to cover in case of emergencies. On those days, I am out at 5. We don't have to make up any time either, which rules. However, if you take a friday off, it counts as a full day, so no vacation fridays in the summer for me.
As to lunch plans, doesn't affect me at all, since I usually take it at 2 or 3....I don't get in until 10:20 or so....

I don't know how it is for me this year. However, last year, I had every other Friday off. That's a paid full day off. And I did not have to make up the hours. Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Eh, but I hear it's different this year. We'll see.

I'm in the "bitter old fart with a real job" category. Shame on all of you.

I'm a bitter old fart, I have a real job, but I can take off early on Fridays or any other day of the week, year-round. (It's more a case of when I want to work then when I won't be working.)
I think we might need a Friday ML HH soon that starts very early, for those who can.... Or at least a trip to Luger's for a lunch burger.

I'm a bitter young fart who also has a real job. The magnanimous folks in charge at my company let us leave a whopping 15 minutes early during the summers. Seriously. That's barely enough time to get in 2 extra martinis for HH.

Our company attempted to instate Summer Fridays. We got in two as a 'reward' for being so productive. The next month, we were kinda expecting a 'permanent summer friday' (shortened work week) but instead they just laid a bunch of us off.

I was recently informed of a concept called, "summer fridays", where employees are allowed to leave a few hours early on Fridays.
Show of hands - who actually has this privilege, and who else is a bitter old fart with a real job?
Also, for the slackers leaving early on Fridays, how does this affect your lunch plans?
