yeah, you should be able to get an amuse bouche from there for $50.

Check out seamless web or something....I know angelo maxies does delivery via seamless, but I'm not sure they'll go where you are....

Every restaurant will do take out, delivery would be a different story. Me personally, i'd look for steaks. BLT Steak, Palm (i like the lamb chops better than steak), Ben and Jacks, Smith and wollensky.

How about some sushi. I seeing that as a better option than steaks which will easily be overcooked/cold by the time you get it home. Goats had a good idea with seamless.

Don't need delivery, but I just can't sit in a restaurant, need to be in my room in front of the laptop, so I have to take out. I would think high end steak houses might bristle at take out, no? Or is it more common than I had thought?

laptops at high ends are not acceptable.

I'm sorry, i misunderstood you...

I just looked at Seamless Web for the first time. HOLY MOLEY that's a great resource!

These are sweet problems to have. I'd say check out Ma Peche

I'd suggest Jubilee. They're on Seamlessweb too.

So here's what happened. I ran into several senior execs in the lobby of the hotel, who invited me out to dinner. They were on their way to Hillstone. Hillstone fer chrissakes. These guys are SERIOUS heavy hitters, but are clearly CLUELESS as to the art of the expense report. I casually tried to sway them away from this chain restaurant by mentioning that it's really just a Houston's with a name change. The response? "AWESOME! I LOVE HOUSTON'S!!" Don't get me wrong, the food is fine, my steak was delicious, but why why why go to a chain restaurant in Manhattan, EVER???

wait, so how'd you get out of the conference calls?

I'm in a midtown east hotel tonight (east 50's) with a crazy amount of work to do. I'm on the expense report, so price is not a huge issue (I can get away with $50 or so for dinner, which shouldn't be a problem without drinks). I have to do take-out and eat in my room because of conference calls. What great restaurants do a good job of take-out?
