Suggestion needed (and my criteria will be a DOOZY!!!!) near Grand Central

Apikoros18

Wife and I, with Baby, will be leaving for Conencticut via Grand Central lunchish time tomorrow... We are both on Weight Watchers, so a low calorie lunch spot needed. This Lunch Spot should sell lunch that can easily be eaten on the train as I hate that pit they call the food court there.... Also, needs to be fast cause we may be pressed for time.. With all that in mind would love something exciting and different. No weirdos, please.

BTW, if you are wondering how someone who is on WW (and 17.8 pounds down!) can still read many food blogs...Food Porn Rules! Diet doesn't mean DEAD. (even though it has die in it). Just cause I can't eat it doesn't mean I cannot read about it.

Um.... Cafe Zaiya bentos? They travel well, and I think if you avoid the fried chicken, it's pretty healthy.

Easy. Energy Kitchen (300 E 41st near 2nd). Their burgers are $5 this month. Bison for the win. I am sure that KC will attest to that.

I like Energy Kitchen, go to the one near my office on 58 and 2nd all the time... I haven't been to Cafe Zaiya though...

I'm guessing the artichoke focaccia slice from Previti isn't weight watchers friendly.

Lobster Gazpacho from the GC Oyster Bar take out window.
    Onigiri from Cafe Zaiya

Id stay away from omsb on WW.

I'd be wary of Cafe Zaiya. It's not like because a bunch of skinny Japanese people eat there makes everything there healthy. Everything there pretty much has carbs. It can be expensive filling up on sashimi alone.

what about Crisp? also a friend of mine who works near there and is a lot skinnier than me really likes Kushi Q...

Energy Kitchen is quite good too. Honestly, any burger from there isn't going to be incredibly WW friendly. Neither is delicious, delicious Crisp, or in reality, Zaiya.

I second the lobster gazpacho, but they don't always have it. Most of the Oyster Bar menu is verboten on WW, but I can highly recommend their seared tuna sandwich. Maybe they can ditch the bread & double the salsa? Also the fish place in the Grand Central market sometimes has seared or grilled fish entrees

i think your safest at EK or anywhere you can get a salad..I like redstone salads.
