Some dude with 2 of his buddies were ordering, and one of them spoke to the vendor in their language to order on their behalf. An order of combo with rice and few spoonfuls of rice but then what happened kinda bothered me... he hooked him with all the vegetables and then gave him a extra slide of meat where they usually only scoop it twice max. Then the dude says something to him like it wasn't enough and I see another scoop happen. DAMN! What the hell is going on?
I have no clue what language and do not want to asssume anything. Does anyone want to order my Street Meats using that language from now on though or teach me a few phrases so I can eat like a king... :P

thats how it is at a lot of ethnic places, they hook up their fellow countrymen.
my barber always offers me a hot towel, but infrequently offers the other guys. it pays to be a son of abraham.

It was clearly a huge and heavy plate too because as I was almost up to order, I heard his friend b--ch how whenever he orders alone, they give him so little food and charge him extra for more meat - that why he only goes with his friend from now on. Understandable.
Not fair to the rest of the crowd but what can you do?

Steve - yea I know. I'm just airing my grievance I guess. Oh well.
Plus I ordered a greek salad with combo meats and they gave me one scoop of meat that it got me ticked off. How come that dude who also paid 6 for his platter got more than 2 times the portion of meat than I was given? And they also forgot to give me another grape leaf so that definitely didn't help the cause. Oh well. What's done is done...

I think "nepotism" is being used incorrectly here. This is more like "reverse racism" or something.
But like Steve says, it happens frequently for many races, so it shall be.
Of course, it happens very frequently for attractive people ;)

I meant to say favoritism but I like nepotism more.
"Nepotism is favouritism granted to relatives or friends, without regard to their merit." I don't know what type of relationship they got going on but they spoke and hand-pounded like they're close friends. I just thought it was ridiculous on how much larger their portion was. Come on now. Almost a 3 to 1 ratio. Insane.
Celebrities especially could get the best treatments...just think how well-feed Zach is.

Steve - ditto. I get that hot towel too from my barber and have never seen anyone else get it.
-
If they were close friends, he wouldn't have paid.
-
well, he didn't pay for the extra piles of meat - that's fo' sure. and it wasn't only him getting extra. it's him and his 2 buds cuz he stood there to order for them. sigh. oh well.

I wanted a lunch platter from 53rd-6th today but didnt take lunch break til 1:30pm so decided to hit up the 100% H&H on 55th & Park Ave (They changed the 100% Halal on 54th to a Healthy too - saw it today but no salads I think so I walked over to the original on 55th).
I was also thinking about trying the combo with rice finally since people in front were ordering it up but also wanted to go with their solid greek salad. I always knew they were kinda stingy with their portions though and my #1 reason to not buy it. It isn't stuffed up with goodies like the salad. They give you a few spoonfuls of rice, and an average portions of meats and vegetables (No surprise it didn't win SMP2). What did I witness though? Big-time nepotism...
