Street Meats mistakes - get my plate right!

StreetMeasOnsumer3008

I haven't posted about street meats in a while but really want to vent. Good thing for ML Forums.

I'm disappointed in my favorite lunch-cart today - 53rd & 6th! I waited 15 mins in the cold when logically I should've went to newly converted Shendy's on 52nd for the same food. I figure I would brave the cold with the line (Foolish idea). I order my mix with rice, walk back to my desk, and see lamb only. WHERE THE F*** is my chicken? LOL.

Lesson learned: Go to Shendy's if you want famous halal plate. I can see it from where I was standing that there was no line. What an idiot I am for waiting and not getting the full plate I want.

I can let go no beans and no fries from Little Morocco with too much hot sauce that night (my fault). I can't let go of my fav. cart getting my lunch wrong...

Anyone else care to share their street meats mistakes story?

the only street meats mistakes i've had are:
    - going to bad carts (hate when i do that)
    - eating the leftovers the next day after they've sat on my coffee table all night (drunken idiot)
    - putting too much hot sauce on my street meat

I read that as 'puking' hot sauce on your street meat...

omg.. that stuff is so hot going down. imagine what it'd feel like coming up? *eek*

You pay for your own hot sauce escapades. Haha. I know I always do. The poor tiolet serving as the receptacle.

Little Morocco's hot sauce is too smoky when you overdo it. I had them put on too much before but since it was cold, it didn't mix as nicely into the rice and meats. It's not even the heat because their hot sauce is not even as hot as 53/6th. It was the smokey stench and dried-out rice, lamb and chicken that were all unwelcome. Teach me to buy them at 11pm during freezing weather. Haha.

Not going back anytime soon. I should be curbing my unhealthy street meats habit anyway.

i actually haven't had street meat in a WHILE.. like 2 months a while. kinda crave it now.

on another note, i am so tired im about to do a face plant onto my desk.

Tired? You been drinking til dawn and waking up to leftover pizza instead? lol.

I missed eating 53/6 today so decided to wait on their horrendous line i nthe cold. I am against it now. The old gray-bearded guy that use to run the cart isn't even there. I will be heading over to new Shendy's-53/6's latest cart if I crave the same food. No lines and no reason to wait an extra 15 mins for my lunch. Not like I get a discount or more food.

53rd and 6th---never again for me. WORST EVER! I don't get what people like about it...that "white" sauce was vile, and the chicken and lamb were sawdust. That being said, I do feel for your getting screwed out of what you paid for. I HATE THAT!

It's not bad in my opinion. I enjoyed the lamb with rice. Today's plate was more like a ground lamb with rice ala hamburger helper style. Haha. It just wasn't what I ordered, which I dislike. Damn them for forgetting my chicken. LOL.

Their meats, rice and white sauce is standard. I always believe it's the good hot sauce and solid portioning that separates them from the rest of the pack.

I prefer Little Morrocco to 53rd, and obviously loved Kwik Meal above all else--until I od'd on it.

Little Morocco's hot sauce isn't as good though and I can eat 53/6th through any cold/rainy weather. I cannot do the same with Little Morocco. And I don't know if I can trust Kwik Meal in rainy weather as I had a funky lamb plate the last time I tried to eat them in the rain. All about preference it seems.

Seriously, without the beans and without fries, the Little Morocco combo isn't much better. That's why I don't feel as impressed by them after my dinner on Saturday. I really wanted halal food too but it was crazy cold.

i had rafiqi's (i know.) today and the xpl truck a few weeks ago. they both started serving green sauce. for the record, rafiqi's green sauce was tastier if a bit saltier.

my mistake was asking for extra sauce without tasting it first. now my saliva permanently tastes like an onion bagel.

The green sauce (been there since they started serving on 52nd) for XPL on is supposedly mint chutney according to the main truck guy, which would work with the lamb. I also heard a construction worker call it cilantro sauce but he drew blank stares from the vendor til he said green sauce. LOL.
