Someplace Just like Blarney Stone?

Mamacita

I love Blarney Stone, even though their onion rings have gone downhill, but I want to expand my cheap-burger horizons. (plus still getting a cheap beer or drink option) Is there another pub that rivals the Blarney Stone deal, has a burger/beer special to one up Blarney?

(just bored and love to hear your thoughts :-) )

For those of us who haven't gone to blarney stone yet, what's the deal with their burgers?

When i want a burger fix, I either get the schnitz burger or I go to Judge Roy Bean (I like their onion rings).

  2. I haven't had one in a while, but when I worked near there, it was cheap, big, and pretty good. Not great, not Shake Shack, or any sort of fancy beef blend, but good.

As far as the onion rings thing goes, I've experienced less-than-awesome onion rings from there before... but even then, they were still pretty good.

blarney's is good for their value. you get a half pound burger with fries for 6 bucks. during the really busy times, their fries become more like deep fried quartered potatoes which would probably equate to 'bad' for most people but psychologically it excites me.

They also honor doneness pretty consistently. plus their high turnover means beef is fresh. it's just a really big lunch in a minimalist establishment.

  4. Ive had the sliders and rings...they were pretty good!!...but they smelled like pure stomach ache.
dont think i would like the burger cuz i think they use rolls as opposed to actual buns.

  5. Blarney's burger is pretty good. You got a monster for $6... it tastes good and they def cook to order. It takes a while during lunch hours but when I want a cheap burger I cant find anything better.

12:00PM is the magic number of convenience in midtown east. a lot of people eat like to eat at 1 for some reason.

  7. i prefer 1:30 even closer to 2.

  8. Travel through time and eat at the soon-to-be-opened 5 guys on 3rd. Sneak a beer in. Boom, insta-pub.

The special part is that its illegal. Time travelling, that is. I reserve the right to drink where ever I am.
