how was the falafel?

My bad--the falafal was solid. though I "think" it only had 3 balls in it--4 at most. Not amazing, but good, and the hummus was good as well. For $2, it's really worth it. For the normal $5, it also is not a terrible deal, considering the truck by my house is $4, and the falafal is not as good nor do they give you hummus. I will have to try their other mid-eastern specialties.

I wonder how they compare to Mamoun's - no hummus.

Mamouns is better than both I believe.

"It’s just out of bounds, but…$2 falafel alert! (although Luncher “Goats” wishes there had been more balls)"
Mamacita got you there. hahaha

mama called goats gay, ha.

More balls (falafal) do put me in a gay (happy, not homo) mood!
-
Haha your gay

*snort.. hee hee* I couldn't resist. Sorry Goatster!

Was this just for opening day or is it a running for longer? For 2 bucks I would be willing to walk.

I like this place a lot, although I'm not sure how this is their "grand opening" when they've been open for at least a few weeks now. Even at $5 it's a good deal. The falafel is good and the hummus is very good. It sure beats (and smashes, destroys, and eviscerates) the ever-living crap out of Mamoun's, which is sickeningly overrated bland tasteless sludge from Hell, IMHO.

I didn't read this carefully enough, and ran over there just now. The special was only that one day, Wednesday. I certainly won't be going there to pay $5.95 for a falafel.

I like Mamouns the few times I've been there--it is definitely as good, if not better. And WAY heartier I remember....

For their grand opening, eatapita, on 30th and Park are offering a falafal with hummus in a pita plus a small container of side salads (you can fill your own up with pickles, chickpea salad and onion salad)for $2. The side salads have cilantro in them, but it didn't stop me from eating them. They were decent. I think cilantro is no longer a major issue for me. NOt a bad deal if you are hungry and in the area.
