i love matzo ball soup from carnegie OR Junior's.
-
too bad i'm not closer to chinatown, I'd get a big steaming bowl of pho with tons of sriracha dumped in. ughhh why are there no good asian food down here
-
ohh, you're downtown....nevermind my recco
-
just got some "Hong Kong-style hot and sour soup" from Goodies downtown, ordered extra-spicy. Not bad, my expectations were very low. Really (artificially) thick and viscous-seeming though...
-
I get 'yuk ge jang' from Korea palace.
-
If no spicy soups, congee works too.
-
sul long tang from gahm mi oak...dak do ri tang (spicy chicken and potato stew) from kun jip...
or, matzo ball soup from 2nd ave deli...
they'll do a body good.
-
@mkim - instead of samgyetang?
-
ahhh....downtown eats...durrp.
my post does no good (as usual).
-
Chris, Korea Palace has samgetang? gotta check it out...i don't even look at their menus anymore. I just order the yuk ge jang.
-
Too bad there's no pho place in FiDi proper - can't make it all the way to Chinatown during lunch :(
-
Jane, the pho place on Doyers (which I think is called Vietnamese on Doyers) delivers. I used to order from them when I lived on Pearl St. - they are OK, not amazing but they suffice.

Any suggestions for good lunches when you're at the office, sick? I'm thinking spicy soups, chicken soups, etc. Blughhhhh
