Share Our Strength is an organization dedicated to making sure no children go hungry in America. You've probably seen commercials (if you watch Food Network, they play them a lot), and maybe you've wondered what you could do - if anything - to help. Though this is an annual bake sale type of deal, almost shamefully, New York has not seemed to show a strong/large participation (no group/concentrated effort, anyway) in recent years, until now! A friend of mine, Jacquie (whose site that is above) has organized a bake sale with many of your favorite bloggers contributing goodies - check the link above to see who is making what! Some of us will also be there selling the baked goods as well (such as yours truly).

It would be really great if you guys could come through and buy some cookies, or even if you just donate through the site. I really believe that in a country like ours, no one (child or adult, really) should go hungry; there is just too much food around that this should ever happen, but it's a sad fact that people DO go hungry every day.

I know I talk a lot about how I can't bake, but I CAN bake really awesome chocolate chip cookies (most recently, using a recipe from James Boo of The Eaten Path - which is totally excellent and I go nut-free), and I will be making lots of dark chocolate and milk chocolate chip cookies, AND working the market from at least 2-3pm. Come by and show your support!

Thanks, I'll get off the soap box now :)

Wish I was free to buy sweets for the cause.

James's recipe looks great. And the chocolate chunks FTW!

C is for Cookie and Cookie is for me...
