Which one? I still haven't had a burger there. The queue is always too epic.

Madison Square Park! It wasn't that bad when we met up last month right after work (6-6:15ish), and it goes by quick when you're chatting with friends :)
-
I agree Yvo. The line isn't that bad if the weather is so-so and you have good company. The anticipation actually makes the meal better and often leads to awesome over-ordering.
-
By the way, I know its not mid-town, but Citi Field Shake shack is for real. You can't get a double, but the regular burger is just as good as Mad Park.

Dougie, I'm going to have to disagree politely with you on CFSS. I went there two weeks ago and the burgers were sadly fail. Soggy. I don't have an issue with their method (we went maybe 30 minutes before official game start time) - just cooking burgers and serving them as you order - but the burgers just were a floppy limp sad mess. :(
There's a whole thread on ballpark food here too :) http://midtownlunch.com/forums/topic/citifield-vs-yankee-stadium-dining-options

dougiec, I'm with yvo on this one. I thought it was good for a ballpark burger, but only OK for a shack burger.
And the line is long - I would never have waited that long during a game (it took 25 minutes), but I went early to check out the new place and get food before it started. We actually got some tacos to eat "to hold us over" while we were waiting on the shack line. They have tons of people working there, but you can only sell them/serve them just so quickly.

I mean, the lines is almost always longer than the Mad Park line and my burger was excellent. Perhaps it varies from day to day (not that it should), but they nailed mine.

I will definitely come and hang out if times are established. I'm just using a reason to eat a burger at Shake Shack. =D
-
Same time as last time - 6ish to 6:15pm :)

Coo! Definitely will be there!

Actually you can get a double at Citi - I got one by mistake when ordering a single (but I prefer the double anyway). I've never been to the original SS but the Citi SS has always been excellent for me. You just have to accept the fact that you'll miss like 2 innings to get something from there.

Hmm... I didn't say you couldn't get doubles? I did, however, write that I don't believe you can get special orders. Doubles are on the menu at Citi Field Shake Shack.
I think if you try Madison Square Park Shake Shack (next Thursday! we can discuss baseball, David Wright, the upcoming Subway Series...), you might see what I'm saying. Since I live pretty close to the stadium (arguably walking distance), I just go early to get food and then don't leave my seats again till the game is over (BF goes to get dessert himself). :) It helps that my seats are pretty much as far from Taste of the City as possible without being outside the park - I sit behind home plate, mezzanine level. Two innings is too much baseball to miss for me :)

So once again, Shake Shack has posted some flavors of custard that I want to try, and once again, I'm down to the wire.
June 25, the flavor of the day is Earl Grey!
All are welcome to join in the fun, if they want.
Let me know.
