Sammy's Halal within reach of a Midtown Luncher

There is a genuine Sammy's Halal within reach of Midtown. It's at west 4th and 6th ave in front of the Chase bank. Anyone around the herald square area, forget the other halal carts, take a 4 minute ride on the express.

I went to high school in Jackson Heights, Sammy's is worth the trip.

  1. Do you know whether Sammy's Halal is related to Sammy's Noodle Shop on 6th and 10th? (Although Chinese and Halal seem a weird combo.)

I've seen that Sammy's and never bother to eat there. I been to the original Sammy's in Jackson Heights. They are okay. IMO, they aren't as good as 53/6 or XPL. Especially if I can eat at both plates during lunch for $5 while Sammy's charges $6 in QUEENS (Not sure about the one in Village but likely $6 too). I definitely wouldn't travel to eat Sammy's Halal since I can eat it in Queens if I wanted to and never felt like I was missing out so that's just me. I would say Sammy's plate is comparable to XPL's. And no way does their $6 combo beat 53/6 lunch cart in value and quantity.

I walked by a cart last night around 7 that said Sammy's Halal on East 4th St just east of Bdwy (on the side of where Tower Records used to be). Is that the same Sammy's as on 6th Ave and 4th St b/c it was at least 7 or 8 avenue blocks east?

Do you know if this place is related to Sammy's Big Bad Boats and Trucks?
