Which one was it and what kind of roach? Was it a big one?
I remember finding a maggot in my friend's lunch once. We never went back to all of those chinese restaurants around the 40s and 8th ave.

I dont think this will keep Zach away from his pork belly with chili leeks. He will probably just think of it as an added bonus like the waffle fry in the steak truck platter.

5$, the one on 39th street. It wasn't a water bug but a decent size..big enough to notice right away.
Anyways, I hate it when I find ingredient I didn't order in my dish.D, lol. I bet ya he is really healthy too. bugs are supposely good for you.

Mmm...roach seared w/ hot chili oil & leeks...
Reminds me of this Japanese movie (of sorts) I saw called 'Bug Eater 2'. The girl was eating crickets and roaches raw. At one point she seasoned them w/a little soy sauce though.

gag! I would have taken a pic and made a phone call to D.O.H.

i found a ladybug in the salad that came with the kalbi from the korean truck on 49 b/w 6+7. but ladybugs are cute (as opposed to cockroaches) and i figured it was harmless so i ate the salad anyway (without the ladybug, of course). but cockroaches...bleh.

5$, i don't know about you but i think there is a huge HUGE difference between eating crickets and roaches.

@mkim1206:
Not when you are starving.
(Not that I've eaten cockroaches before though...)
-
@Samwich, hairs do not even compare to roaches. btw, i think the short, curly ones are a lot worse than the long straight ones

also, this makes me really sad since i love love Szechuan gourmet. probably won't stop me, though. plus, roach in a hot dish is a lot better than roach in a cold one.

I wanted to try the Szechuan gourmet after hearing good reviwes from here so i took one of my coworkers for lunch and ordered L1 and L28. While my coworker was eating his dish, he suddenly pushed his dish away. then i saw it..there it was..a dead roach swimming in the oil. yikes. I felt so bad cuz i suggested the place to him. They didn't charge for his dish but i'd never go back here again.
