"Ding Ding Ding! Last year, it was all Coors light pitchers. Why do you think it's $40?"
$40 is a huge overcharge (considering the bars are making beer donations for the cause). Even for Coors. Do the math. 10 people on a team; 5 bars; 4 pitchers per bar. That's 20 pitchers, or 2 pitchers per person. So, you think $20 for a pitcher of Coors lite is reasonable? (OK, the t-shirt is worth a few bucks. But having to drink more Coors after the crawl is just punishment!) I'll donate directly instead--more money for charity, less personal suffering. (Coors Lite gives me a hangover headache *while I'm still drinking it*!!!!)
-
Stevenp, you forget it's all you can drink Coors at the after party. And yes, if it were $20 per pitcher, that would be expensive.
-
hungry--you missed my comment. AYCD Coors is a PUNISHMENT, if not outright TORTURE. I'd rather drink water--same taste, less headache.
-
Stevenp: Oh, I'm not defending Coors at all. Heck, I too dislike all the major American brands. To me, they taste like putrid water so I can't even pretend to like it. In fact, last year at the pub crawl, I did the whole pinch your nose and pound the cup so I could taste as little as possible. Peer pressure is a bitch.

Hi all, wanted to correct a comment that was made earlier. The beer is not donated by the bars. Wish it were!

*Yawn* You people are old an crotchety when it comes to beer. It's cold, it's sterile, it get you drunk...

Old and Crotchety? lol. Not me. I just wouldn't waste my time drinking watered-down or poor choice of beer for 40 bucks, even if it's for charity. If the bars are going to go cheap, they might as well be serving Natty Lights. Haha. Heck, any cheaply canned beer will do over Coors or Bud. lol. PBR? I like Tecate.
-
@CheeeeEEEEse: Yeah, old, and I guess getting more crotchety. *shrug* But good beer TASTES GOOD. The generic American swill tastes yucky (or has no taste at all), and gives me an acid stomach and/or headaches, even when consumed in small quantities. Good beer doesn't do that. (And my range of "good" beer is pretty broad, from Belgian lambics down to PBR and Yeungling.)
-
@stevenP: You went to RPI, the only way to drink that stuff is with a funnel anyway. Anyway, I happen to like PBR, and I'm not even a hipster!

Since it seems like you guys love to drink (as well as eat), here's a good cause to support. Raise money for cancer research by drinking beer with 9 of your friends in Midtown East. It's $40/person for a t-shirt, beer during the crawl, and beer at the after party.
Lots of debauchery, old school games (ie: flip cup), and hot messes all around.
