@Jamie, Joe's on 16th is decent pizza place to check out. It is the perfect for those who work in the business district due to its location.

@Jamie For dinner last night I went to Drinker's West and had a ridiculously good pizza. My roommate and I split the 16" Spicy Pulled Pork Pizza ($14). First off, the crust was thin, with the perfect amount of crisp, with a light coating of olive oil. And the toppings! Marinated and slow cooked pulled pork, salsa verde, sautéed red onions, shredded mozzarella and queso fresco. It all just melted in your mouth.
The reason I really mention this is our waitress told us on Wednesdays they have a special: $3 Personal Pizzas till 9pm. She said for the Spicy Pulled Pork Pizza, they add $2. $5 for that sounds like a really awesome meal (and a qualifier for Pizza Thursday).
PS. They had $4 pitchers of Lager last night (Yuengling for those uninformed) which is too good to pass up.
I don't think the Drinkers in Center City has food though...

Wow, much of this is seriously off-topic. @Jamie, I spent four years in NYC and unfortunately, pretty much no place in Philly can hold a candle to what I considered Manhattan's best - Arturo's and the grandma pie at Adrienne's. Lombardi's could suck it, and I never had a chance to make it out to Brooklyn for those places.
That being said, the best of Philly is not in Center City. Joe's on 16th near Sansom and Slice are probably the best slices in Center City. Slightly further afield, I like the pizza at Rustica, NoLibs, 2nd and Poplar, next to the Standard Tap ALOT. It's not really thin enough to be NY pizza, but it stands on its own. Gianfranco Pizza Rustica at 3rd just north of Market makes pretty good slices as well. For the good stuff, you need the whole pie - Stella and Osteria have already been mentioned, but you gotta go Philly old school. Tacconelli's in Port Richmond, whole pies only, reserve your dough - you'll need a car to get there. Marra's Italian restaurant in South Philly makes a great pizza - subway accessible. Pretty new but good - Trio's Trattoria's square pies - 4th and Girard. Pietro's and Mama Palma's (although I haven't been to the latter in a while) in Center City area will do in a pinch.
Good luck and pass on any new knowledge!

I realize that I am late to the party, but Rustica in NoLibs is by far the best pizza I've had in Philly...though I have yet to try Tacconelli's!

So with Passover ending soon, I am jonesing for some pizza real bad. I must admit- I am quite picky. Where do you go for your favorite slice?
