If cheesesteak is on the agenda, Jim's Steaks on South Street. Avoid Pat's & Geno's like the plague IMO.

Wawa

Roast pork with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone from DiNic's in Reading Terminal Market. Follow up with one of the billions of other things you can find there. Done.

To get an experience out of it- either the Italian Market or Reading Terminal. Like sir eats a lot, I, as many others, would recommend DiNic's sandwiches in Reading Terminal as the one dish to get for any Philly visitor. It is just the thing to get, because it is that good. There might be a big line on a Sunday during peak hours though.

Totally Reading Terminal Market!

I'd enjoy attempting something similar but do not want to live with the consequences...
Enjoy Philly, pig. Have fun walking around in your Yankees attire too if you choose to do so. :P

so i got off the bolt bus in philly and asked where the reading market terminal was. she informed me it was 20 blocks in the opposite direction of UPenn, and that it was closed on sundays. she was right about the 20 blocks, but totally wrong about the closed on sundays thing, and now im completely bummed out that i didnt get to try dinic's. *sniff*
why did i choose to listen to a bus driver? :(
-
dude, i specifically checked before giving you that rec (also, because i wanted to get one). gimme a little more credit. :p
-
this is why i wanted you to take the bus with me.. so that you could guide me.
im sorry sir. please don't make me feel worse than i already do. :( did you get one??
-
no, i didn't even get one! i took the train straight into the burbs, and i didn't have time on the way back to make a stop! worst trip ever.
-
same here. and then got stuck in a mess load of traffic about 2 miles before the holland tunnel. took nearly 3.5 hours to get back. not to mention that my shoulders and nose are burnt from sitting in the sun.
