Okay, Yvo covered in soy sauce with an ice-cold TsingTao to wash it down with. There!
-
Some real good pastrami on rye.
-
1. Lamb, chicken, & kofta kebab w/ rice at 53&6
2. Schitzel burger (extra greasy) from the truck
3. 2 Chipotle burrito bowls
4. Cafe Zaiya milkshakeand top it off with:
5. A $3 water dog

A bagel with cream cheese and lox... california doesn't do NY bagels and good lox is hard to find out there
-
Pizza! I hear LA pizza is shit.
-
Large stew peas if the dutchy ever returns followed up with a double order of lamb fries.
-
I'm in for the DiFara's lunch...
-
We all know Zach is going to fill up like crazy on Trini-Pak before he goes.
-
Oh yeah, there is no Jamaican/Caribbean food in Cali (at least not like here) Load up on those Doubles, beef patties, oxtail, jerk chicken and curries. Man, this thread make me hungry! Also reminds me why I love NY!

Someone give him a Walgreens sandwich as a going away present.
-
Street meat, Italian food, and Indian. All the other asian food he can find in LA.
I expect Zach to find the best taco truck in all of the LA area and its locations so I can visit next time I'm out there.

gogocurry. still not on the west coast.
chix&rice. they don't have that ANYWHERE in cali. and because of this, my cousin is currently dying. he had it *once and he literally gets raging cravings and randomly gets pissed at me for not sending him some. being surrounded by the illest taco trucks and in n out joints will not placate the beast. good luck.
also, white castle. trust me.

Zach, just think about what you'd miss out west. I've heard LA is well represented in east asian, so why bother with sushi/chinese/thai/viet unless there is something that's your ultimate favorite.
My guess is you should hit up stuff like biryani cart for kati rolls, maybe a Schnitz Burger, kwikmeal, famous halal, trinipak, the dutchy (he came back just in time!), etc.

I second Adam's suggestion. Go see Meru for a Chennai and a Buradi kati roll. If you still have room, the chicken tikka pita is, of course, killer.
