Nutrional Info: Halal

locondcoco

Ok, this may sound ridiculous and oxymoronic to even want to know this, but does anyone have an idea of the nutrional information(calories, carbs, protein, etc) on a chicken & rice platter (or combo platter)? or Halal cart food in general?

there is a listing on thedailyplate.com, for the chicken & rice @ the halal guys (6th & 53rd);
http://www.thedailyplate.com/nutrition-calories/food/53rd-26-6th-halal/chicken-26-rice-platter
but the numbers seems a little out there. it also says its not verified. but i wouldnt discard it too quickly, becuase most meals at your commom food chains (chili's, applebees and the like) weigh in at 1500-2000+ calories. i was just curious, thanks to anyone with info!

    This sounds about right. Someone did the same thing in the UK.

    A quick search shows similar numbers:

    2045 calories---come on....no way. That's like 4 big macs with special sauce! I don't believe it....unless you are drinking their white sauce out of the bottle with every bite.

  3. I'm deeply skeptical of these numbers. They're claiming 255g of carbohydrates -- the only significant sources of carbs in that meal are the rice and the pita. A whole slice of pita only has 33g, leaving 222g to come from the rice. You'd have to have almost five cups of prepared white rice to get that many grams of carbs.

    Six ounces of pure protein, nine ounces of pure carbohydrate? Very skeptical. For starters, cooked rice is not 100% carbohydrate; there's a healthy % of water in there.

    The 40 ounces of fat have to be helped along by drowning your plate in white sauce. Solution? Lots of hot, a little white.

  5. I'm pretty sure anyone can add info to that website. I don't know if I believe that.

    i'm skeptical about the breakdown of carbs/proteins/fat...but the calorie count may not be too far off. theres about 200 cal in a cup of rice. and they stack that thing with rice. and considering how much grease it sits in, plus the white sauce...that can quickly add up.

    i mean, i was shocked the last time i went to an applebees, and saw some of the calorie counts. a quesadilla appetizer is about 2000 calories. tho its suppose to be for 2 people. even so, a 1000 calorie appetizer?? chili's baby back ribs are about 2000 calories as well.
