I'm hoping they will get a new delivery before lunch as they didn't have the soups out when I was there an hour ago and were running low on sandwiches. Good luck! They serve smoothies too, which looked awesome, but they are not on sale so I didn't sample. North corner of the building before the turnstiles. at the very least you will come away with free coffee...

it's on! new sandwiches are out, and 6 varieties of soup including 10 Vegetable, sweet corn chowder, some come from Hale and Hearty. Sandwiches include tomato/mozzarella, and they have beautiful salads too (not on sale) freeloaders, engage! <- I just like saying that

I went around 1pm and 4 sad lil tuna salad sandwiches were left. So I left and went to Picnick, Smoked... rainy weather = extra moist brisket + no line.

To celebrate its grand opening, the newsstand that opened yesterday in the north lobby of 32 Old Slip is giving away free coffee. And I mean the fancy, caramel macchiato style drinks as well as iced coffee or just plain. I had two yesterday and am presently enjoying a cafe latte as I type. Plus, for lunch they have soup for just $2 and sandwiches for $2.95, 50% off the normal price, so you can enjoy a $5 lunch downtown today! I've sampled two sandwiches so far (did I mention that they are catered by Zabar's?) - first was green apple slices and brie on a delicious pecan raisin bread, the other was a tuna/cranberry mix with lettuce on a robust multigrain bread. They had a number of different soups but I was too late to get one last night. The newsstand is open until 6:30 pm.
