Shake shack. You gotta do it. It's the best burger ever and totally worth an hour wait in the cold and wind.

Goats is drunk. However, even though he dislikes Shake Shack, it is indeed worth checking out, though you're better off with one of the non-Madison Square Park locations.
There are few "don't miss this!" kind of food places for a family to hit up, though since you're on this site, you can look for ML's "Best of" lists from the end of last year or even Streetmeetpalooza 4.

Grand Central Oyster Bar, sit at the counter and order one of their signature Pan Roasts (I prefer the Oyster), watch them make it front of you, sit back and enjoy.
After done eating, go upstairs in Grand Central Station, grab a drink at one of the overpriced bars (Jordans?) overlooking the main room/grand concourse and watch the world go by in front of you. It's kind of neat people watching, especially around holiday season.

Mcdonalds on 42nd between 7th and 8th! It is the coolest McDonalds in the whole world. You will never want to leave...And their big macs are extra special. I swears...

My family and I are visiting your great city for the first time ever next week, where are the "must not miss" places to eat?
Thanks and see you soon.
