Baja Fresh? Nah. Try again. BK for breakfast (seriously). You have Labeleca right there on 40th/7th for chicken parm subs. Go Go Curry and Djerdan (yum!) on 38th. Popeye's on 40th.
Oh yeah. And there's a handy-dandy ML map just to the right that could do much more for answering your question, if you just click on it.

Oooh Go Go Curry, how could I forget.
I know about the map, wanted to get some personal feedback. :) (Sorry, I'm just a very excited newly employed person.)
-
Olympic Pita on 38th between 5th & 6th for falafel laffa.
Cafe Amande for bibimbap on 39th between 5th & 6th.
-
yayyyyy congratulations on becoming closer to go go curry.
-
Congrats on the new job.
And I wouldn't consider you new since you've been around ML for quite some time. lol.
-
It's the actual "Midtown Lunching" part that's new, with her new midtown employment.
With a slight walk, you can get $1 slices over on 9th Ave (at 41st, I think). And you're a lot closer to Rudy's for post-work drinks! Interesting options on 8th Ave too. Too bad the Sophie's on 40th bet. 7th/8th is gone.
-
Yea, I meant she's not new to ML but I get that she's new to the midtown lunch scene.
2 Bros. Pizza is on 40th and 9th for $1 slices. Don't bother with the 99 cents pizza nearby.
You're also close to POPEYES! 40th btwn 7th-8th.
-
stevenp, you would walk 2 avenues for that "pizza?"
my hats off to you.
-
Yes, I'm new to the midtown lunching, not to the website. Unfortunately, I stumbled upon the site at the tail end of my last job, where I was working at the ESB.
Thanks for the congratulations on the job, tis an exciting time.
So far on my list is
Go Go Curry
Schezuan Gourmet
it's competitor (Lan something, hah)
Olympic Pita
Cafe Amande
Cafe Duke - heard good things from friendsSorry, not walking to 9th ave for a slice, hah. :)
-
Lan Sheng- i ordered takeout from the last Friday. as per Blondie & Brownie's rec I got the dan dan noodles. they were good, a nice change from my usual cold sesame noodles.
stay way from the salt & pepper shrimp. tasty, but not worth the $$$.
good soups

Little Morocco on 39th and 7th! also let me know if you want fabric store recommendations in your area!!
-
Sarah - actually I do want fabric store recommendations! Thanks - if you want to take it off forum, my email address is feistyfoodie [at] gmail. A friend of mine is making his dog a wedding dress. I think she's the ring bearer, I didn't ask. Thank you!!!

Woo, I (finally) got a job, hell yes! I'm working at 40th and Broadway starting next week and would love to hear recomendations! I know I'm near a Baja Fresh but I'm otherwise clueless to what delicious eats are around me. :)
