need some tips for eating in NYC

There have been 2 posts in the forums, I believe, on weekend carts. Here's the one I found

Secondly, if you will be in chinatown or such, search chowhound for their threads on the best places to go there. Lastly, if you see an interesting hole in the wall joint or a cart selling something that smells good, just do it. Adventurous eating is half the fun of traveling.

Yea, carts are around crazy late at nights!!
No need to worry about missing out during the weekends.And I'm sad to report that I see Rafiqi's still out and about in Midtown around midnight but also among many other carts. ;P

I have a question.
my wife and I will be meeting friends in DC then driving up to NYC in Aug and would like to get some tips on where to eat we will be there Fri-Mon. are the carts open on the weekends?
