STLWolfer, is your avatar the lemon cake from del frisco's!? god. that lemon cake is just absurdly good.
I'm going to get shit for this, I'm sure, but what about Johnny Utah's?

@CrumbHunter, good eye. Yes, my favorite desert in midtown happens to be a $89 slice of cake (that price MAY be exaggerated...)
Utah's is actually a good happy hour spot of ours but I've never tried the food. Any good?
Not a bad call on Bar Americain either but we've been there before and always come away unimpressed for some reason. Keep the recommendations coming! Thanks crew.

*headdown* STLWolfer shot down my recs. haha.

NO NO NO @monster!! Im simply asking for more reco's. I'd love to try A Voce but I worry it might not be loose enough for this crowd. I'll check out Shelly's Trattoria and Maloney & Porcelli's. Thank you!

So I know it' s not your typical $10 and under midtown lunch question but I need recommendations on where to go for a fun business birthday lunch. We have about 6-10 people coming and it's a fun crowd so we don't want to go anywhere too stuffy but we still want to eat some delicious food. So somewhere in between Rudy's and Del Friscos. Price is not an issue. Nothing sushi or fish specific as we have some picky eaters with us. We work at 52nd and B'Way and have tried the following places already and aren't interested in going back for this specific party despite loving many of these places:
Blue Fin
Nobu 57
Del Friscos
Ben Benson's
Red Eye Grill
Landmarc
PJ Clarkes
Rosa Mexicana
Virgil's
Insieme
Beacon
Patsy's
Trattoria Dell'Arte
Would appreciate any suggestions or comments. Thanks
