We already beat you to street meat.
-
That's a great one. Where did you decide the best was? We've got a bunch of good ones lined up, so people should be salivating all over the city. Better put your galoshes on.
-
So you joined this site just to promote your site? Nice, dude, very nice. /sarcasm
-
Nope. I joined the site because it's awesome, and I love food. I thought it would make sense to start by sharing something I do that people here might find interesting and see if other users had any recommendations.

Awesome! Welcome to ML Forums!
-
We need a classifieds section?
-
you can pay off your tuition but you can't buy class.
where is stevenp to lay the smackdown on this jabroni?
sorry i'm super hostile right now because i need to go bowling so i had to shave off my march mustache.
-
Mama, a "casual enounters" section could be pretty entertaining. just sayin'.
-
Let me just say: video reviews = FAIL. My time is too valuable--I want information at my own pace, easily perused so *I* decide what I ant to look at. I don't want no jabroni bustin' in on ML to pimp his site with Fisher-Price videos where you have to sit thru 10 or 15 minutes of monotone monologue just to gather a few potential nuggets of interest. No thanks!
Was that OK, deanlo? ;^)
-
yvo, hilarious.. hahahaha
-
@stevenp, you know, I've been considering adding video to my site, but I feel like the only reason to do so would be to pimp my own self which I'm really against. Because honestly I usually browse blogs while I'm at work, and I'm not watching videos while I'm at work... I just am not. Well, not back at the law firm, now, anything goes. Still. Like you say, no attention span.
I guess I answered my own question... but I would have done cooking videos. Thoughts?
-
I would watch Yvo cook since she appears to know a thing or two about food. Your soup recipes have to be better than listening to reviews on videos. *SNORE*
So this dude signs up to ML, first act of business is posting about his site in forums, and thinks he isn't just here to promote his site? yeah, that makes total sense! DUH!
And clearly you don't know how awesome this site is if you don't even know what the best street meats have been decided on in the past here.
-
there's probably an audience for that somewhere but I wouldn't watch it, personally. i mean, i don't even watch my favorite food blogger when he cooks because it's just so awkward. but i do watch the other non-cooking videos like the fireside spinning lamb roast on a string. or like some guy making hand-pulled noodles.
sometimes i'm too impatient and since I can read faster than the person can speak, i'd rather read do the former and save myself the time.
if you do end up making a video segment... i'd like to guest star :)

Check out a video series I have on thecheapthriller.com called 'Carlo's Quest' where I search high and low for the best food and drink NYC has to offer. So far, I've taken on the challenges of the bloody mary, meatball sub and egg salad sango.
Do you know of any great places I missed or have suggestions for future episodes?
