-Thai Son for some Vietnamese food.
-Bo Ky for some duck dishes.
-Wah Mei for Taiwanese porkchop over rice. Say yes to the tea egg.
-Excellent Dumpling House is borderline tourist trappy but it's pretty solid, food comes out super quick, and the service is great.
-There's a Halal Cart by Chase Bank on Canal Street.
-Definitely try to take the 6 minute hike out to La Esquina for some legit Mexican food. Nopales or the Lengua.
-People like Despana but I would personally pass since everything there is a re-heat.
-Banh Mi Saigon for some Vietnamese sandwiches. You fail if you don't order pate + thit nguoi (liver pate + cold cuts)
-If you dare to walk 15 - 20 minutes, you can hit up the Calexico Cart for some award winning tex-mex (they're temporarily closed now so you probably have to check the site daily and see when they open)
-Order delivery from Saluggi's Pizzeria or Cafe Habana
-Ed's Lobster, if you want to splurge on lunch

you're not too far from shing's food cart over on catherine and madison. noodles, fish balls, and unidentifiable fried chicken pieces.

just a little south of there on catherine is bread talk, inc., a new chinese bakery that serves amazing coffee.

for relatively cheap non-asian i recommend bluebird sky on baxter, but they're slow so order ahead.

  3. thanks to both of you. I went to La Esquina today since it was the only place I really knew.

any other cart idea (with location) would be greatly appreciated..

there's another chinese cart with spring rolls, noodles and fried chicken on the north side of canal near centre that i've never tried. and yao's dragon beard candy cart is on the south side of canal usually somewhere between mott and bowery.

  5. Can you tell me some more detail regarding La Esquina. I mean markets, restaurants, leisure centers.
