Midtown Lunch Search

Is there anyway to sort a query that is returned when doing a search on the ML website? I'm looking for a place to eat Indian for lunch today and did a search but it returns entried from all sorts of dates. I'd love to be able to sort by most recent entries, etc. Is this possible or is a feature that could be added to the website, I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this would be an added benefit.

I don't think that feature is a available, but I'm not a pro. On the other hand, that's exactly what these forums are for. Around what streets are you looking for? I'm sure you'l get a a few "live" recommendations this afternoon.

I'll throw you a few once I know the area.

The map is worth a try. It's got the Google API, but I'm not sure on how often it's updated though...

  3. 303- I didn't want to flood the forumns with a question if I could answer it myself but thank you.

I'm on 37th and broadway, so anywhere with in a few blocks. I'm looking for somewhere to sit for a reasonable price.

Cheese- for some reason (I think it's a firewall issue) the map doesn't load on my work comp.

  5. Dan- I did do that but with all these places changing names, etc. so frequently and replacing each other I didn't know what was/wasn't good at this point.

How about ramen in that same area, my co-workers are changing their minds.

37th is a little too far south for my expertise. I may get shunned from this site for suggesting, but Yelp is not a bad alternative. At the very least, you can get a few names and see if it was reviewed on ML.

  7. If 9th ave is not too far (I hate walking between 7th and 8th...) then Tawa Tandoor is a good choice. A more reasonable location (just not that good) is Touch of India on 37th between 7th and 8th. They serve AYCE lunch buffets for about $13.

  8. You are very close to the "newsstand Indian" and Kati Roll. I doubt there are any respectable sit-down Indian restaurants in that area. As for ramen, anyone who likes ramen already knows the very short list of acceptable ramen places (and no, none of them are near you). Advice: Just go go to Go-Go Curry. If I worked over there, my ass would be there all the time.
