As in a bunch of us ML readers go somewhere for happy hour?
I'd be down for that...
-
I suspect this will be like herding cats. Midtown is big (east vs west sides, north 50's vs south 30s), and people working to various times would make it tough to drum up a crowd.
I think friday happy-hour review should become an open thing. I don't think it would be a particularly big turnout each time.

More like herding LOLcats

I'm in... the more notice the better. D is a very busy man.
-
Goats are you bringing rutgersbooks along?
-
I'm interested! I second D's request for far-advance notice.

I am not sure about Rutgers...his intentions scare me! I say we do it in 3 or 4 fridays. Let's nominate some places----I know my out of bounds go to joint, mccormacks, would be a fun place. Stout was mentioned on another thread, and that would be cool too. And of course, there is always wakamba lounge, which would be an awesome place for ML to take over!!!!

Does it have to be in Midtown.... if not I suggest porky's or Off the Wagon both have nice happy hour specials and porky's has fishbowls!
-
I'm not picky---whatever people want to do i will do.
-
I suppose I'm mildly interested if only to walk by and oogle y'all and then run away... hahaha and not as a comment to your looks or anything but because I'd be extremely wary what would be said about/to me... considering how you people treat the profiled luncher of the week

Porky's on 21st St? Dear lord--that's in my backyard.
Yvo--We met at the Shack gathering and nothing bad was said. It wasn't traumatic, was it?
Off the Wagon is so... yesterday. I'll suggest 1849 - close to the ACE and BDFV lines at West 4th (the 1 train is close by too). Happy hour with half-price beers (yes, $3 drafts incl. Guinness, Sam, Bass, etc.) every day until 8pm. And 20-cent wings until 6, plus excellent nachos.

Hey goats, just saw that your go-to place McCormack's is a Sox bar! Nice call--I'd be up for that too.
-
never knew mccormacks was a sox bar at all. I'm not sure that is accurate, but i don't watch many Yankees games out---and if I do, it's usually at press box in the 50s, or stout in the 30s. McCormacks is my sat night/after hrs bar. (yes, im all yanks!!!!!) I will go anywhere, though the less collegeish, the better, unless you guys want to really pound....i don't need fishbowls, but i have it in me if necessary.....
