Midtown Lunch Celebrity Sightings

My wife just phoned to say she saw Jackie Mason at an Au Bon Pain at 6th and 56th. (That can't be kosher.) Anyone else seen anyone famous eating lunch in Midtown?

Not necessarily seen them eating, but having worked on 57th btw 5th & 6th, I've crossed paths with:

    Jackie Mason
    Tony Bennet
    Queen Latifah
    P.Diddy
David Ryan Harris (I actually introduced myself to him since he's a favorite of mine)
    Matt Pinfield
    Scott Speedman (Felicity)
    Tyler Florence
    Eric Ripert
    Tony Bourdain
    Geoffry Chodorow

(the last 3 are very easy to run into since they have restaurants in the area)

Well, at least I recognize 4 names on your list. I guess "celebrity" is a term open to broad interpretation.

You saw Tyler Florence??? I think he is HOT!!

Harvey Keitel (in front of two boots on 9th)

The guy who played "the plague" in hackers on 8th at 43rd

Harvey Fierstein in Europan (yuk!) on 8th at (42nd?)

Damn! I walk by that Two Boots all the time and have never seen Harvey Keitel.

I saw Lewis Black coming out of Xie Xie on 9th Ave. a few weeks ago.

Though the best celebrity sighting I've ever had (possibly in my entire life) was not exactly Midtown... but kind of. Al Pacino on 10th Ave. in the 40s a few months ago. Amazing.

I ran into that Ham on the Street dude while I was in Union Square. or maybe it was a look-a-like because this dude had a yarmulke-style bald spot....

I saw Christine Baranski last week going into her trailer at corner of Goveurners Lane and Water Street. The trailer was in the spot where the Mobile Chicken cart usually parks. And yesterday and today, I saw the pastry chef Will Goldfarb in his PickNick BBQ trailer in Manahatta Park :) ... yum, eating the peach pie right now.

Forgot to mention, I saw A-Rod once. I worked in the building that also houses the MLB headquarters. Apparently he was there to sign a new contract. I was at the elevator trying to go down to the street to get my lunch. He was about two feet from me, in the elevator while I was trying to enter it. He looked me right in the eyes and held the gaze while he pressed the door close button. I didn't care about him, I just wanted my sandwich ...

He pressed the door close button on you? Sounds like a great guy...

Actually, I bumped into him once, but not in Midtown. It was pretty funny - my boyfriend said "Look it's A-Rod" and I said "No one cares" (I'm a Mets fan) as he walked by with his then-wife and a kid in the stroller. This was in Las Vegas. Monday or Tuesday, we get back to NYC and the Daily News front page story is about underground poker games for big money are busted and A-Rod had a gambling problem, visiting them too much... lol
