Manhattan Special Soda -- Where in Midtown?

Ike

Hey, anybody know where I can find Manhattan Special Espresso Coffee soda anywhere near Grand Central or Penn Station or in between?

I've only ever seen it in convenience stores/delis downtown, never in midtown.

This is the only coffee-related or coffee-flavored thing in the world that I like. It's outstanding. Normally I'm a tea man.

Why would they even sell a diet AND decaffeinated one? That is sillier than diet decaf coke (Brown bubbly water).

It's a little further up than you're wanting to go, but Papa Perrone on 55th btw Mad and Park always has the stuff.

Hey I know I'm late to the party, but I swore I saw Manhattan Special at that fancy-ish Duane Reade by 36th and Broadway.

Thanks Ncsuemme. You mean the one with entrances on both Broadway and 6th Ave., right? I've been there. I haven't noticed it there but I didn't look very carefully. I'll check again.

Nope, I checked last night and didn't see it there!

But they DID have some other rarely-seen drinks, including a few varieties of Maine Root (but regrettably, not Maine Root's excellent ginger beer). And the somewhat less rare but excellent Sweet Leaf iced tea.

Ah, sorry about that. I thought I saw it in the section right off the 6th ave entrance - where they have stuff like ziploc bags, etc and a few other food items. (Not the main food section.) But I could have been wrong, and it's been a few months since I went.

HOLY TOLEDO, Ncsuemme, you're right and I was wrong! It IS there! I didn't expect it to be hidden in the section right next to 6th Ave. instead of with all the other sodas over on the Broadway side, near the coolers. They only carry it in 28 oz. bottles which I've never seen before, for $2.99.

    Thanks!

I wonder how many other Duane Reades are hiding this gem....
