I asked about this place on the forum a few weeks ago.
Unfortunately, I didn't get much response...I havent been down there since to give it a try.

Clearly this place is prime for a Midtown lunch dare! Whattaya say Zach?

It won't be a dare unless it's sealed in commercial plastic and says it's made somewhere in Massachusetts. Remember, Zach eats stuff like ceviche from a no-name sidewalk cooler....

I went once. Got cheese empanada and stewed beef over rice. it was a heavy lunch, not bad -not great. Kept forgetting where it was. You know, since it is in a loading dock and its easy to walk past it.

hit El Sabroso for the first time today (and quite enjoyed it).
My co-worker, though, had seen the ML review but thought it was a different tiny place in an elevator hallway on W. 37th that he had walked by last week. We explored a bit to confirm he wasn't crazy, and ended up finding the place he had seen, just to the west of 8th ave, on the south side of 37th. It's in this storefront (GMap http://j.mp/RJXrl) marked # 306, and had a few more seats, a little more activity behind the counter. Anyone tried it? Recommendations?
