La Esquina del Sabor (NYC) - Anybody been to this Jackson Heights Cart?

Zach Brooks

Holy fuck. Have any Midtown Lunchers been to this weekend cart in Jackson Heights?

Cracklins. Pig's head. Blood sausage. This looks like the greatest cart I've ever seen in my life.

I kind of wish there was a blog that explored all the culinary delights along the 7 train. Seriously.

That looks awesome and it's only a block away from the train. Will have to check that out, thanks Zach!!!

Black Pudding!! the Holy grail! Fried pigs ears too?

Zach you's a very bad Jew!

  3. setups like these seem to pop up at a lot of the street fairs, I've seen a few pigs heads around and tried some crunchy bits but no blood sausage that I've noticed.

It's usually pretty consistent, sometimes on the dry side.

Oh man, blood sausage? I've been watching Andrew Zimmerman's Bizarre Foods every week and it seems like he has blood sausage at least once an episode and I'm dying to try some.

(black pudding /Boudon noir) is NOT Bizarre.Every european country has it own version.

Only way to describe the taste is fatty tangy slight hint of ozone...from the blood(you know that smell just after a lightening strike?)

Very good for new mums, all that Iron.

Anyway try it...bollocks to the health police.

Never had that particular blood sausage (aka Morcilla) but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Morcilla. The best i ever remember having was at a hut in the middle of a dirt road in Puerto Rico... longest lines ever and the cheapest food ($1 for a PLATE of Blood Sausage) and it was sooo good.
    And now im drooling.

Whenever I see the word "Morcilla" I hear it pronounced by Jose Andres with his thick eSpanesh accent ('Mortheeya')
