Korilla BBQ is SKIMPY and SMALL

Goats

I don't know what happened to them--maybe it's all the publicity from the show--but the size of their burrito--rib eye of the tiger in particular--is f'ing MINISCULE now! I was so pissed! It was ALL tortilla and hardly any filling! I was biting folds of tortilla with nothing for nearly half the burrito it seemed! I used to love this truck-their burritos were huge! They weighed well over a lb and a half and were stuffed to the gills. But now, NO. Not even close. Less product. High price. Not sure I will return. I leave the hypechasers to support them....

ouch. i hope this was just an anomaly. i haven't had them since the summer since they're almost never in midtown anymore. but i do recall the last time i had their tacos, they were pretty skimpy, but the burrito was still very ample. i feel like they did let the show get to their heads a bit.

  2. I don't know why the show would get to their heads since they were caught cheating and booted off in shame. If anything they should lower their prices and give bigger portions to redeem themselves of their tarnished reputation.

You know the saying Jacks---any publicity is good publicity. I know they still get crazy lines and always run out of food. I doubt they need to lower prices or give the larger portions they did when they were starting out...

  4. It's being good businessmen. Break even or even lose money the first year by providing big portions of top quality food - once you build up your business, slowly lower the quality and portions. Your margins will increase and you won't have to work as hard due to slightly less demand.

The other option is to do what Kwik Meal has been doing and just raise your prices instead of cutting quantity/quality...Actually, I think that Mohammed tried cutting quality at one point and got called out on it.

So i was finally able to chase them down at their vanderbilt/45th location. got a burrito. it was still pretty big. so Goats, they may have had an off day. or maybe the worker was new. but i did watch them like a hawk to see how much of everything they put, and i guess i can say they def. dont put AS much as they used to. and i think mine would have been smaller if i didnt ask for summer radish on top of cucumber kimchi, tho that is what i usually get. but overall, it was about the same size as i always remember it being.

I went yesterday too and was disappointed by the size and make up of the burrito. 3/4 of my bites were just tortilla and rice... like eating at chipotle. i'm officially done with these guys.

ESNY, you had a very similar experience to me. That's EXACTLY what I felt the last two times I went there--both before and after GFTR aired, except, I honestly have only had chipotle once (yrs ago, and spit it out b/c I hated cilantro at the time...so I can't comapre it) but my Korilla was all tortilla with a little rice mixed in for at least half the burrito. I know they have different trucks so maybe the workers in the flatiron location are just skimpier? I'd never seen any of the workers before. I knew most of their crews at one point by face.

  8. I am so glad someone else has noticed this and posted about it. When I first tried Korilla I always opted for the tacos which left me so stuffed I could barely finish them but I couldnt stop eating because they were so yummy. Now on the flip side, the tacos are SO small, Im never full after eating them. I still love their food, but i cant justify spending my lunch hour waiting on a long lines for a lunch that leaves me hungry. It's a shame.

I aim to please sharrison....I aim to please! I hate people gettin' ripped off--and korilla is straight up robbin these days!

  10. I don't think Korilla was ever that good. The Kimchi Taco Truck beats them hands-down imo

  11. agree with sharrison.

have been going since they opened up and now the tacos are all little two-biters (one if I was feeling like an ass.)

yeah yeah yeah, get the bowls instead...but then I should just go to a korean joint instead of korilla, right?
