Korean tacos & lobster rolls -- Flatiron district

okaygo

A place called Sagaponack just opened on 22nd street near 5th Avenue. I haven't been yet, but I grabbed a menu on my way past yesterday. They have soups, salads, sandwiches, hot food, etc.

BUT then they have shrimp rolls (6.95), spicy crab rolls (7.95), fried oyster rolls (7.95) and lobster rolls (12.95)!

AND furthermore, they have a "taco bar" and one of their tacos is a "Korean short rib and spicy kimchee taco." Two for $6.95, and comes with "Mexican rice and beans."

They also have a "Korean bbq steak sandwich station" and a sandwich w/grilled gulf shrimp.

Anyway, a weird and confusingly diverse menu, butit's right near my office so unless it's awful it will probably enter into my lunch rotation.

  2. Thanks for the tip. Almost sounds too good to be true. Can't wait to try it.

This is in my backyard (practically--if I *had* a backyard!) I will try this soon. Right now, still have time to score another mission burrito! And will be venturing to Fisherman's Wharf to pop my In-n-Out Burger cherry.

okay I stopped in here on Friday at lunchtime, just to look around. They heat up the meat for the tacos on one of those little electric countertop griddles. the salads are pre-made - they looked pretty good but there were only about 5 out when I went in at 12:30. the hot entrees look like standard midtown deli fare. I didn't see any evidence of lobster or fried oyster rolls. it was all kind of confusing inside, and one woman who worked there was being kind of rude to anyone.

not super promising, but they just opened recently so maybe they're still working out the kinks.

Just tried the place today. It was pretty good. I couldn't find the shop at first but a flyer guy near Lucky Jeans gave me their postcard (4 West 22nd Street). The postcard even had a 20% off coupon. The nice woman at the register let me keep it and told me I can reuse it. The discount is good until December.

The beef in the Korean tacos was tender and well marinated. Thin strips of kimchee was a replacement for the usual chopped onions and cilantro. The two tacos came with Mexican rice, beans and a free container of salsa and sour cream. Guacamole was $1.25 extra.

    Thanks for the tip!
